Pop! Goes the Icon

Sorry it’s been so quiet around here. Though I would much rather spend all day blogging about my on-again-off-again love affair with comic books, I do have to work sometimes. OK, so my “work” involves blogging about OTHER topics, namely at DailyFiasco.com and VEGASinsight.net. But today is Wednesday, and that means the next chapter of Marvel Comics’ “Messiah CompleX” crossover comes out today, and that means I’m going to try to get to my friendly neighborhood comic shop and pick it up. I have to say, if there was any jump-in point I needed for re-acclimating into the world of the X-Men, this crossover is it. The cliffhangers at the end of each segment keep me coming back. I think I need to do some Wikipedia searching to figure out who some of these characters are, however.

If I can fight through the sinus medicine I’ve taken today (it’s the most brutal time of year for my immune system, which normally can withstand the Black Plague), I’m also going to try to get over to the Consumer Electronics Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, where press access and free lunch await me. I need to get out of the office anyway.
