Moving on up …

This entry is the first step in a process to relocate all of my public blogs from TypePad to hosting on my own vegasinsight.net server using WordPress as the publishing system. I know that sounds technical and all, but the basic thing is this: I already pay X amount of dollars for robust hosting of my own web server, but on top of that, I’m paying MORE each month to host my two blogs — this one and Bleeding Neon — via TypePad. TypePad is a great, user-friendly interface with full support, but now that I’ve learned how to take advantage of WordPress’s power and the databases of my own web server, paying the extra $15 a month just isn’t worth it. Plus, this is just one step further to becoming an internet guru.

So I’m going to begin moving the Pop! Goes the Icon entries over here and tweaking the template. It’s not as though more than four of you will be affected anyway, so now is the optimal time. Plus, I won’t be launching the official domain for at least a week, so I figure by next week, we’ll be all moved and caught up to speed.

I’m going to do some importing and I’ll be coming back soon with a post about DC ripping off Marvel … way after the fact.
