Though opened on the east end of the Fremont Street Experience as a family-friendly amusement center, Jillian’s has outlived nearly all of its one-time neighbors in the failed experiment called Neonopolis by establishing itself as one of the few all-ages live music venues in Las Vegas. The multi-level location features a number of different areas, including a bar and restaurant, multiple game rooms and a second floor featuring adult-friendly amusements such as mini-bowling, pool tables and, oh yeah, another bar.
All-ages shows from today’s hottest touring indie, punk and metal bands are held downstairs in a the large, “Amazing Games” area. The stage, lighting and sound are surprisingly decent for being somewhat makeshift. Meanwhile, 18-over affairs are held upstairs on a smaller stage adjacent to the “Hi Life” bowling lanes.
